2 Chronicles 17:3 And the LORD was with Jehoshaphat, because he walked in the first ways of his father David……Dear LORD, what was the first ways of his father David:
He revered the first ways: Jeremiah 6:16 Thus says the LORD: “Stand by the roads, and look, and ask for the ancient paths, where the good way is; and walk in it, and find rest for your souls.
He worshiped the Lord God of his father and him only, prayed to him only and inquired of him only: Psalm 119:108 Free-will-offerings of my mouth, Accept, I pray Thee, O Jehovah, And Thy judgments teach Thou me.
He walked in God’s commandments: Deuteronomy 13:4 Ye shall walk after Jehovah your God, and ye shall fear him, and his commandments shall ye keep, and his voice shall ye hear; and ye shall serve him, and unto him shall ye cleave.
He entrusted his heart and soul to the Lord: Psalm 28:7 Jehovah [is] my strength, and my shield, In Him my heart trusted, and I have been helped. And my heart exulteth, And with my song I thank Him…….. Psalm 25:1 To you, O LORD, I lift up my soul.
He never thought he could do enough for God, he loved serving him: Psalm 100:2 Serve the LORD with gladness! Come into his presence with singing!
Might make a good inventory when searching myself from time to time.
